DR-1D Brake Switch Input to SMEC - Less Speed Control

Complete Driveability Test 1, Step C before proceeding.

1. Turn ignition switch Off, then disconnect 60-way electrical connector from SMEC.
2. Connect a voltmeter between 60-way electrical connector terminal No. 29 and ground.
3. Turn ignition switch to Run position, then depress brake pedal.
4. If voltmeter reading is within 1 volt of battery voltage, replace SMEC.
CAUTION: Before replacing the SMEC, check the D40 terminal in cavity No. 29 of the 60-way connector to make sure it is not damaged causing a poor connection.
5. If voltmeter indicates no voltage, check for open circuit in wire of terminal No. 29 to brake switch, defective brake switch or open circuit in voltage supply to brake switch.
