DR-16B Throttle Position Sensor

Complete Driveability Test 16, Step A before proceeding.

This test must be performed with engine cold.

1. With diagnostic read-out tool connected to engine test connector, place ignition switch in Off position.
2. Place system in Sensor Test 05.
3. Display on read-out tool should indicate the following:
a. Throttle fully closed, .5 to 1.5 volts. Be sure none of cables that are attached to throttle body are not misadjusted and are holding throttle open.
b. In between closed and open. Test should indicate an uninterrupted change of voltage between closed and open throttle.
c. Throttle wide open. Test should indicate at least 3 1/2 volts.
4. If volt readings are within specifications, proceed to Test 16 step C.
5. If volt readings are not within specifications, replace throttle position sensor.
