CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION -- CONVERTIBLE TOP CORRECTIONDear Chrysler Motors Vehicle Owner:
The satisfaction of our customers is very important to Chrysler. Because of this, we are offering a special service to owners of certain 1987 Chrysler LeBaron Convertibles. There will be no charge for this work. The correction is needed to prevent the folding top linkage from binding and pinching the top fabric.
Your car, whose Vehicle Identification Number is shown on the enclosed form, is one of the affected vehicles. The parts needed for its repair are now available. We ask that you arrange for this free service without delay.
To correct the condition, your dealer will modify the top storage area and linkage. The dealer will also inspect the spare tire position and tightness and correct them if necessary.
Important: Each time that you remove the spare tire and reinstall it in the trunk, be careful to push it all the way forward before tightening the wing nut which holds it in position. Also, be sure that the wing nut is as tight as possible. This is necessary to avoid possible interference between the tire and the convertible top when it is lowered.
The service should take less than one hour to complete. To arrange for these improvements:
^ Contact your dealer as soon as possible to schedule an appointment. We ask that you call the dealer who sold you the car if convenient. However, if necessary, the service can be performed by any Chrysler-Plymouth or Dodge dealer.
^ At the time of your appointment, take the enclosed form with you and give it to your dealer. The form is for use by the dealer and by Chrysler to record completion of the service.
If you have any problem obtaining the needed service, please contact the Chrysler Zone Office in your area. (it is listed under "Service Assistance" in your Operator's Manual.) A Zone representative will arrange for prompt servicing of your car.

IMPORTANT SERVICE REQUIREMENTS FOR 1987 CHRYSLER LeBARON CONVERTIBLES
Dear Chrysler LeBaron Convertible Owner:
Your 1987 Chrysler LeBaron convertible is involved in two separate service notifications. Copies of both are enclosed, and it is important that the following services be performed on your car. The enclosed letters explain them in detail:
^ Replacement of the driver's accessory floor mat to prevent interference with the accelerator pedal.
^ Modifications to the convertible top linkage to avoid possible damage to the top fabric.
^ Inspection of the spare tire to be sure that it is properly mounted in the trunk. This will prevent possible interference with the convertible top when it is lowered.
Please note that each time the spare is removed and reinstalled, you should ensure that it is pushed forward as far as possible before the hold down wing nut is tightened.
Your dealer will provide these services to you without charge. Please schedule an appointment for the service as soon as you can.

CONVERTIBLE TOP CORRECTION
^ Only 1987 Chrysler LeBaron convertibles with build dates of Month-Day-Hour
(MDH) 06-15-07 through 06-26-19 are involved in this service action.
^ Affected cars are already equipped with revised headliners. However, other changes are required as explained in the accompanying dealer notification
Service Procedure to avoid possible convertible top damage.
^ Most of the involved cars also require service for Safety Recall #406 -- Driver's
Accessory Floor Mat. Be sure to schedule the service for both conditions together for the convenience of your customers.
