SYMPTOM/CONDITION
During cold weather, the driver may experience the accelerator pedal frozen in the idle position. A greater than normal amount of force will be required to move or break the throttle blade free. This condition only occurs in cold ambient temperatures, below +5~F, and usually after the vehicle has been sitting overnight.
DIAGNOSIS
Inspect for the presence of ice or water in the throttle body bore, or if the owner complains of the condition, proceed with the repairs.
PARTS REQUIRED
Adaptor Package, PN 4419456
Consisting of:
1 SMEC Adaptor
1 Hot Air Adaptor
1 Connector Assembly
1 Clamp
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Remove existing fresh air duct which is located between the SMEC (Single Module Engine Controller) and the air cleaner assembly.

2. Install the hot air adapter and clamp on the air cleaner. Orientate the adaptor over the exhaust crossover pipe until the word "top" is at the top of the air cleaner nipple. The adaptor should be located directly over the exhaust crossover pipe. Tighten the clamp to retain the adaptor.
3. Install SMEC adaptor onto the SMEC.
4. Install the connector assembly between the two adapters.
