14B Check 8 Volt Supply to DIST. Reference Pick-Up

Distributor Reference Pickup Coil Connector:

1. With distributor reference pickup coil disconnected, connect a voltmeter between cavity 1 of connector and ground, then turn ignition switch to Run position.
2. If voltmeter reads seven volts or more, replace distributor pickup coil. Before replacing coil, ensure terminals in distributor harness connector are not damaged. Also make sure the distributor rotor turns while the engine is cranking.
3. If voltmeter indicates no voltage, locate and repair open in wire between cavity 1 and wiring harness splice.
