Wheel Bearing: Adjustments

After installing the bearings and wheel hub, tighten the nut to 14.5 ft. lbs. to seat all parts then loosen the nut. Tighten the nut to 4 ft. lbs. and after installing the cap, install the cotter pin. If the holes do not align after shifting the position of the installed cap, loosen the nut until a flute on the nut aligns with cotter pin hole in the spindle. Do not back off the nut more than 15 degrees.
