Throttle Body: Service and Repair

1. Remove air cleaner.
2. Perform fuel system pressure release procedures as previously described.
3. Disconnect battery ground cable.
4. Disconnect vacuum hoses, then the electrical connector.
5. Remove throttle cable, then if equipped, the speed control and transaxle kickdown cables.
6. Remove return spring, then the fuel system intake and return hoses.
7. Remove throttle body attaching bolts, then lift throttle body from vehicle.
8. Reverse procedure to install. Torque attaching bolts to 200 inch lbs. on 1986-87 models or 175 inch lbs. on 1988 models.
