8A Fault Code 43 Spark Control Circuit
1. With diagnostic read-out tool connected to engine test connector, place ignition switch in Off position.
2. Disconnect ignition coil secondary wire at distributor cap and position approximately 1/4 inch from thermostat housing.
3. Disconnect white electrical connector from logic module and connect a jumper wire to electrical connector terminal No. 6.
4. Place ignition switch in the On position, then depress diagnostic read-out tool ATM button.
5. Touch other end of jumper wire connected to terminal No. 6 of logic module white electrical connector to ground several times and observe ignition coil secondary wire.
6. If spark is noted at ignition coil secondary wire, replace logic module.
CAUTION: Before replacing the logic module check the terminal in cavity No. 6 of the white connector to make sure it is not crushed causing a poor connection.
7. If no spark is present at ignition coil secondary wire, proceed to step B.
