DR-1E Park/Neutral Switch Input Circuit

1. Place ignition switch in the Off position.
2. Disconnect black electrical connector from logic module.
3. Connect an ohmmeter between terminal No. 12 of logic module black electrical connector and ground.
4. Position gear shift lever in Park, Reverse, Neutral and Drive, and note ohmmeter reading at each position.
5. If ohmmeter indicates continuity in all gear shift lever positions, Check wiring from terminal No. 12 of logic module black connector for short circuit to ground. Also check for a defective park/neutral safety switch.
6. If ohmmeter indicated no continuity in all gear shift lever positions, check wiring from terminal No. 12 of logic module black electrical connector for an open circuit.
7. If ohmmeter indicates continuity for park and neutral and no continuity for drive and reverse, replace logic module.
CAUTION: Before replacing the logic module check the terminal in cavity No. 12 of the black connector to make sure it is not crushed causing a poor connection.
