PARTS REQUIRED
1 Flex Rack Replacement Package PN 4419025
1 Mopar Spray White Lube PN 4318066
REPAIR PROCEDURE
This procedure outlines replacement of the flex rack.
1. Detrim door (see service manual).
2. To remove failed plastic flex rack, proceed as follows:
FIGURE 1 - Roller Pin:
a. Lower window until roller pin (Figure 1) is accessible through inner panel major access hole.
b. Remove roller clip from pin. Save clip for reuse.
c. Apply a force, in the outboard direction, to the glass lift plate to separate the lift plate from the T-Track until roller pin disengages from knuckle. Slide roller out of lift channel. Save roller for reuse.
d. Actuate motor in the "up" direction. Motor will travel the flex rack upward on the T-Track until the flex rack can be extended beyond the end of the T-Track and removed from the door through the belt opening. Continue until no sections of flex rack remain on the T-Track.
CAUTION: KEEP FINGERS CLEAR OF REGULATOR DRIVE MOTOR WHILE REMOVING FLEX RACK FROM T-TRACK.
e. Remove any pieces of flex rack which are in the bottom of the door.
3. To install replacement flex rack, proceed as follows:
a. Verify that replacement flex rack includes a metal reinforcement clip surrounding the knuckle. If clip is missing, do not install.
b. Lubricate flex rack gear teeth (use Mopar Spray White Lube, PN 4318066, or equivalent).
c. Install the flex rack, small end first, through the belt opening and onto the TTrack. Push the flex rack downward until the end of the flex rack contacts the motor pinion.
CAUTION: KEEP FINGERS CLEAR OF REGULATOR DRIVE MOTOR WHILE THREADING FLEX RACK OVER T-TRACK.
d. Using caution to insure that the flex rack feeds onto the T-Track without damage, carefully actuate the motor in the "down" direction. Continue to lower until the knuckle is in a position which is easily accessible through the inner panel major access hole.
e. Slide the roller into the channel section on the glass lift plate.
f. While applying a force, in the outboard direction, to the glass lift plate to separate the lift plate from the T-Track, insert the roller pin into the hole in the flex rack knuckle.
NOTE: THIS STEP REQUIRES THAT THE GLASS BE MANUALLY POSITIONED VERTICALLY.
g. Install tbe roller clip to the pin.
4. Install door trim (see service manual).
5. Clean the glass and verify proper operation.
