VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER LOCATION
The vehicle identification number (VIN) is located on a plate which is attached to the left top side of the instrument panel and visible through the windshield. (Fig. 1)

All vehicle identification numbers contain 17 digits. The vehicle number is a code which tells destination, brand, sales code, price class, engine displacement, body type, etc.

VEHICLE INFORMATION CODE PLATE Vehicle information code plate is riveted onto the cowl panel in the engine compartment.
The plate shows model code, engine model, transaxle model, and body color code.

The chassis number is stamped on the right top of the fire wall in the engine compartment. (Fig. 3)

VEHICLE SAFETY CERTIFICATION LABEL
The vehicle safety certification label is applied near the door striker on the driver's side.
This label shows the date of manufacture numerically, month and year, Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (G.V.W.R.), Gross Axle Weight Rating (G.A.W.R.), -front and -rear, and Vehicle Identification Number (V.I.N.). (Fig. 4)
NAME PLATE
The name plate is riveted on the fire wall in the engine compartment.

ENGINE MODEL STAMPING
(1) The engine model number is stamped at the right front side on the top edge of the cylinder block as shown in the following. (Figs. 6 and 7)

(2) The engine serial number is stamped near the engine model number. (Fig. 6)
