6C Checking Secondary Fuel Pump

1. With diagnostic read-out tool connected to engine, place ignition switch in Run position.
2. Connect electrical connector to secondary in-tank fuel pump.
3. Disconnect electrical connector from frame mounted primary fuel pump, then depress ATM button on read-out tool.
4. If fuel pump is running, check the following:
a. All fuel lines for kinks, restrictions or leaks.
b. A plugged fuel filter.
c. Contaminated fuel.
5. If fuel pump does not run, check wiring at secondary fuel pump. If wiring is satisfactory, replace secondary fuel pump.
