6B Checking Fuel Pump Wires

1. With diagnostic read-out tool connected to engine and ignition switch in Run position, raise and support vehicle.
2. Disconnect in-tank fuel pump connector, then connect positive lead of a voltmeter to dark green/black wire of connector.
3. Connect negative lead of voltmeter to gray wire of connector, then press ATM button.
4. If voltmeter reads within 1 volt of battery voltage, replace fuel pump.
5. If voltmeter shows no voltage, move negative lead of voltmeter to an engine ground and press ATM button.
6. If voltage is now within 1 volt of battery voltage, locate and repair open in gray wire to connector.
7. If voltage is still 0, locate and repair open in green/white wire from connector.
