8. Pull carpeting down from dash panel on passenger side of vehicle.

Locate dimple on passenger compartment side of the dash panel, below air conditioning drain, and toward the passenger side of the body plug. Cut floor pad from bottom up to dimple. Drill a 1/4" pilot hole through this dimple. Then drill to a 1/2" hole. Make certain carpet is pulled away far enough so that it does not get damaged by the drill (Figure 1).

CAUTION: HOLE TO BE DRILLED IS IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO BRAKE LINES ON THE ENGINE SIDE OF DASH PANEL AND HEATER BOX ON PASSENGER SIDE.

9. Locate upper dimple on the forward face of the passenger side shock tower. Drill a 3/16" hole in this dimple. Drill a 3/16" hole 7/8" below and 1/4" left of the first hole (Figure 1).

10. Attach supplied MAP sensor, PN 5227492 for Turbo or 5227491 for EFI, to bracket, PN 5227493, using supplied screws, PN 152791, and nuts, PN 9419784 (Figure 1).

11. Attach MAP sensor and bracket assembled in Step 10 to shock tower with supplied screw, PN 6029513. Screw attach bracket through hole drilled in dimple in Step 9. Location tab of bracket fits in lower hole drilled in Step 9. MAP sensor connections should be on the side facing the ground (Figure 1).

12. Install logic module.

13. Feed jumper wires through 1/2" hole from passenger compartment out to engine compartment. Seat grommet of wiring assembly, PN 4368706, in 1/2" hole in dash panel. Place wiring in passenger compartment under carpet pad.

14. Attach wiring assembly, PN 4358706, to brake line on dash panel with two cable ties, PN 6015756. Fasten wiring assembly with third cable tie to vacuum harness near passenger side shock tower (Figure 1).

15. Attach wiring assembly, PN 4368706, terminal ends to terminal insulator (grey), PN 4368550 for Turbo or black, PN 4368173 for EFI, as follows:

a. Black wire with light blue tracer to cavity "A" of terminal insulator.
b. Dark green with red tracer to cavity "B".
c. Violet with white tracer to cavity "C".

Close locking tab of terminal insulator (Figure 2).

16. Connect terminal insulator assembled in Step 15 to MAP sensor.
17. Connect flared end of formed vacuum hose, PN 4201264, to nipple of MAP sensor.
18. 2.2L & 2.5L Vehicles With EFI

a. Disconnect original MAP sensor vacuum signal line at 90~ connector located near timing belt cover.

b. Cut 1" off of formed vacuum hose, PN 4201264, and connect to 90~ connector of MAP sensor signal line. Formed vacuum hose should be installed to have a downward slope from the MAP sensor to the 90~ connector.

c. Use 3/16" vacuum hose connector, PN 4104998, and 3/16" rubber cap, PN 3580171, to plug old MAP sensor line.

FIGURE 4 - (K-BODY) TURBO SHOWN:

2.2L Turbo Vehicles

a. Disconnect upper 90~ connect from solenoid pack at the solenoid nearest passenger side shock tower (Figure 4).

b. Use 3/16" vacuum hose connector, PN 4104998, and 3/16" rubber cap, PN 3580171, to plug 90~ connector removed in Step a.
c. Cut 1" off of formed vacuum hose, PN 4201264, and connect to solenoid nipple. This MAP sensor vacuum line should not have any kinks and should be installed to have a downward slope from the MAP sensor to the solenoid pack.

d. Disconnect the right angle vacuum connector from the lower nipple of the solenoid nearest the passenger side shock tower.

e. Insert the vacuum connector, PN 4104998, into the right angle vacuum connector disconnected in Step d. and attach the vacuum cap, PN 3580171, to the other end of vacuum connector.

FIGURE 4 - (K-BODY) TURBO SHOWN:

f. Locate the 3/16" hose which connects the intake manifold vacuum source with the fuel pressure regulator. Remove 3/4" from this hose at its mid-point and insert "Y" connector, PN 4275571.

g. Using 3/16" hose (available in bulk 50' roll, PN 4105167), connect the lower nipple of the solenoid nearest the passenger side shock tower to the "Y" connector installed in Step f. Route this hose on top of the convolute tubing which sits next to the cylinder head cover. This hose should be long enough to reach, but not so long as to droop or kink (Figure 4).
19. Reinstall passenger side carpeting and right side kick panel.
