Whenever the system has been open for any amount of time as in the case of a collision, the receiver-dehydrator must be replaced because the dehydrator element will be saturated with moisture. A new unit is required to remove excess moisture from the rest of the system.

1. Discharge refrigerant from system.
2. Disconnect refrigerant lines at fittings. Plug all open connections to prevent entry of dirt and moisture.
3. Disconnect electrical wiring.
4. Remove receiver-dehydrator mounting bolts and the receiver-dehydrator.
5. Reverse procedure to install. Use new O-rings lubricated with refrigerant oil.
6. Evacuate, charge and leak test system and check for proper operation.
