Fault Code 14

Fig. 12 ATC wiring harness and lead connectors:

1. Locate and disconnect the in-vehicle temperature sensor wire connector, then using a suitable ohmmeter, check the resistance between pins 1 and 4 of connector No. 5.
2. Resistance should be 5,000 to 41,000 ohms with ambient temperature between 30 and 90 degrees F.
3. If resistance is not as specified, replace temperature sensor, then retest system. If resistance is still not satisfactory, proceed to step 4.
4. Remove computer control, then using a suitable ohmmeter, check for continuity between pins of terminals shown, as follows:
a. Pin 1 of 6 to pin 13 of 8.
b. Pin 4 of 6 to pin 10 of 8.
5. If circuits are complete, replace computer control. If circuits are open and color codes are correct, repair main wire harness.
