DR-16B Checking Alternator Field Control

1. Place ignition switch in Off position, then connect power module 10-way electrical connector.
2. Disconnect power module 12-way electrical connector.
3. Connect a voltmeter between alternator F2 terminal and ground.
4. Place ignition switch in Run position.
NOTE: The alternator field terminals (F1 and F2) of the engine wiring harness on Shelby Chargers and GLH models are interchangeable. Therefore, it will be necessary to identify which one is F1 (ignition switch feed) and which one is F2 (field control to the power module) before performing the test.
5. If voltmeter reading is within 1 volt of battery voltage, proceed to Test 16 step C.
6. If voltmeter reading is 0 to 1 volt, replace power module.
