Test 8-Step D, Ignition Coil Control Wire For A Short

1. With diagnostic read-out tool connected to engine test connector, turn ignition switch to Off position.
2. Disconnect wire from negative side of ignition coil, then connect a voltmeter between negative terminal of ignition coil and ground.
3. Place system in ATM Test Mode Code 01.
4. If voltmeter reading is within 1 volt of battery voltage, check wiring from ignition coil to [1][2]power module 10-way electrical connector terminal No. 1 for short circuit. If wiring is satisfactory, replace power module.
5. If voltmeter reading is not within 1 volt of battery voltage, replace ignition coil.
