DR-5A Fault Code 17 Detonation Sensor

1. Connect diagnostic read-out tool to engine test connector.
2. Disconnect electrical connector from detonation sensor, then connect a jumper wire to connector terminal.
3. Start engine and operate at speed above 1000 RPM.
4. Momentarily contact jumper wire connected to detonation sensor connector terminal to battery positive terminal and note diagnostic tool display reading.
5. If diagnostic tool display indicates 8, replace detonation sensor.
6. If diagnostic tool display does not indicate 8, proceed to Test 5 step B.
