DR-3B Checking Speed Sensor Circuit

1. Disconnect speed sensor electrical connector.
2. On models equipped with electronic instrument cluster, navigator or voice alert, remove speed sensor wire from 40-way bulkhead connector.
3. On all models, connect voltmeter positive lead to white orange wire terminal and negative lead to black/blue wire terminal of speed sensor electrical connector.
4. Place ignition switch in Run position and note voltmeter reading.
5. If voltmeter reading is 4 volts, replace speed sensor.
6. If voltmeter indicates no voltage, position voltmeter negative lead to a good engine ground. If voltmeter now indicates 4 volts, check ground wire for open circuit. If voltmeter still indicates no voltage, proceed to Test 3 step C.
