Recall - Hesitation during light acceleration
83chrysler1No. 343
October, 1983
TO: All Chrysler-Plymouth and Dodge Dealers
SUBJECT: Customer Satisfaction Recall No. 343 - 2.6L Engine Driveability
MODELS: 1984 Plymouth Reliant; Chrysler E-Class, New Yorker, LeBaron, Town and Country Wagon and Executive Sedan; Dodge Aries, 600 and 600ES Passenger Cars With 2.6L Engine
The affected new model vehicles may exhibit a hesitation or weakness during light acceleration after engine warm-up. To correct this warm engine driveability condition, an EGR delay valve and hose assembly must be installed. A revised hose routing label must also be applied. See the Service Procedure section of this letter for complete instructions.
VEHICLE LIST
Each dealer to which involved vehicles were invoiced will receive a listing of them with this letter, arranged in Vehicle Identification Number sequence. The lists are for use by dealers to arrange for recall service of involved vehicles. The success of recall completion will be greatly helped by good dealer follow-up.
COMPLETION/STATUS REPORTING
Enclosed with this letter are Claim Forms #83-295-0018 (10/82) for all involved vehicles identified on the Vehicle List. When a vehicle has been serviced, submit Copy 2 of the Recall Claim Form for payment and for our record of completion. If a vehicle is not available for a known reason, let us know by filling out and mailing the pre-addressed Vehicle Disposition Form (part of Copy 1). No postage is necessary.
