Idle Speed Adjustment

HOLLEY CARBURETORS

1. Disconnect and plug vacuum hose from CCEGR/CVSCC valve.
2. Disconnect electrical connector from radiator fan, then install jumper wire so fan will run continuously.
3. Remove PCV valve and allow to draw underhood air.
4. Connect tachometer, then ground carburetor switch with suitable jumper wire, if equipped.
5. Disconnect oxygen sensor system test connector located on left fender shield, if equipped.
6. Start engine and allow to reach normal operating temperature.
7. Open throttle slightly and place adjustment screw on slowest speed step of fast idle cam.
8. Open choke valve and adjust fast idle speed to specifications, Fig. 7.
9. Return to curb idle, then place adjusting screw on slowest speed step of fast idle cam and readjust if necessary.
10. Connect PCV valve, oxygen sensor connector and vacuum connectors, then remove radiator fan jumper wire.

MIKUNI CARBURETOR

1. Set parking brake and place transaxle in Neutral position.
2. Turn off lights and accessories, then disconnect radiator fan electrical connector.
3. Connect tachometer, then start engine and allow to reach normal operating temperature.
4. Disconnect and plug vacuum hose from distributor.
5. Open throttle and install tool No. C-4812 or equivalent on choke cam follower pin, Fig. 8.
6. Release throttle lever and adjust fast idle speed to specifications, Fig. 9.
7. Remove tool, then turn off engine, connect fan and vacuum hose and remove tachometer.
