Temperature Gauge: Testing and Inspection

1. Remove wire connector from temperature sending unit.
2. Turn ignition switch to the ON position.
3. Using a jumper wire, momentarily ground the sending unit lead wire. This should cause the temperature gauge to swing to the full HOT position.
^ If the gauge does not respond properly, check the wiring to the gauge and the power and ground feeds to the gauge.
^ If power, ground, and wiring continuity are OK, replace the temperature gauge.
