SYMPTOM/CONDITION

Customer complaints of limited backlite visibility through the inside rear view mirror may be corrected by relocating the mirror one inch lower on the windshield as described in the following repair procedure.
PARTS REQUIRED

1 - Mirror Adhesive Kit PN 4293039

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Loosen the set screw and slide the mirror up and off the button.

2.. Using a wax pencil and a straightedge, mark a horizontal line on the outside of the windshield 1.8" (46 mm) below the bottom edge of the mirror button (Figure 1).

3. Mark a vertical line on the outside of the windshield through the center section of the mirror button, and extending down the windshield beyond the horizontal line.

4. Using a putty knife or other suitable tool against the lower corner of the button and the windshield as shown in Figure 1, remove button by tapping on putty knife with a hammer.

5. Install mirror at new location using procedure in service manual.
