Initial Inspection (Visual Inspection)

Most problems with the EFI system can usually be traced to poor hose or wiring connections. Before proceeding with system tests or diagnosis, inspect the following:
1. Ensure that vacuum connections on front and rear of throttle body are secure and not leaking.
2. Check that vacuum connections at EGR and purge solenoids are secure and not leaking.
3. Ensure hoses are securely attached to vapor canister and back pressure transducer.
4. Check PCV valve for proper installation.
5. Make sure proper connections exist between air heater and throttle body.
6. Inspect the MAP sensor for proper vacuum connections.
7. Check electrical connectors for proper installation at the following components: logic module, MAP sensor, ASD relay, [1][2]power module, EGR and purge solenoids, speed sensor, AIS motor, throttle position sensor, fuel injector, oxygen sensor, coolant temperature sensor, distributor and radiator fan relay.
8. Ensure ground eyelet is attached securely to the intake manifold under bracket.
