(FOR UNITS EQUIPPED WITH MOPAR DASH MOUNTED CONTROL SWITCH)

Test Simulator Harness P/N 1-3092A Required

DO NOT START THE ENGINE WITH THE TESTER INSTALLED

NOTE: Perform the test before installing the electronic module in the instrument panel.

(1) Run the engine for 15 seconds to build up vacuum and turn the engine off.

(2) With the ignition OFF, plug the tester into the speed control wire harness. Plug the electronic module into the tester. Assure that the foil contacts on the module are on the same side as the foil contacts on the tester.

(3) With the ignition key in the on position, the SAFETY, NEUTRAL, IGNITION, VAC and VENT LIGHTS should be illuminated. The SPEED LIGHT may or may not be on depending on the position of the speed sensor's switch.

(4) Roll the vehicle a few feet to check the speed sensor. The SPEED LIGHT should FLASH which indicates the sensor is working.

(5) The BRAKE LIGHT should be illuminated when the brake pedal is depressed slowly. The SAFETY LIGHT should go out after the brake light comes on.

(6) The BRAKE LIGHT should come on (dim) when the clutch pedal is depressed. The SAFETY LIGHT should stay lit.

(7) The SET LIGHT should be illuminated when the set button is pushed and the accelerator pedal should move. The SAFETY LIGHT should go out and the VAC LIGHT should remain on. The VENT LIGHT should flicker or be off. If the lights respond as indicated, but the accelerator pedal does not move as indicated, then fault is not in the electronic module.

(8) Press the brake pedal. The BRAKE LIGHT should should come on and the accelerator pedal should return to the idle position.

(9) Press the resume button. The RESUME LIGHT, should come on and the accelerator pedal should move.

(10) Press the off button. The OFF LIGHT should come on and the accelerator pedal should return to the idle position.

(11) REMOVE THE TESTER. Start the engine and run for 15 seconds to build up vacuum.

(12) Replace the tester. With the ignition key in the on position, test the vacuum valve body assembly by depressing the SAFETY, VENT and VAC BUTTONS at the same time. The accelerator pedal should go to the floor. NOTE: If VAC and VENT and SAFETY LIGHTS go out as buttons are depressed and accelerator pedal DOES NOT move as indicated, then fault is not in the valve assembly.

(13) Release the vacuum button and the pedal should remain on the floor.

(14) Release the vent button and the accelerator pedal should return to the idle position. NOTE: If the valve body is wired correctly and functioning, an audible click should be heard from the unit when any of the buttons are pushed.

(15) With the ignition off, remove the tester and complete installation of the module.
