Single Point Fuel Injection
The ASD relay is powered and controlled through the [1][2]power module. During engine cranking, the power module senses a distributor signal and grounds the relay. This completes the circuit for the electric fuel pump, ignition coil and power module. If for any reason the distributor signal is lost, the ASD relay interrupts this circuit in less than one second, preventing fuel, spark and engine operations. This rapid shutdown provides added safety in the event of an accident.
