Assembly


1. If entire choke assembly was removed, position assembly on carburetor and install retaining screws.
2. If choke diaphragm was serviced, rotate choke shaft counterclockwise, then insert diaphragm with a clockwise motion.
3. Install retaining screws and tighten securely.
4. Ensure that fast idle link is properly installed.
5. Install accelerator pump spring, diaphragm, cover and screws.
6. Install accelerator pump discharge check ball in discharge passage, then check accelerator and seat as follows:
a. Fill fuel bowl with clean fuel.
b. Hold discharge check ball down with small brass rod and operate pump plunger manually. If check ball and seat are leaking, no resistance will be felt.
c. If no resistance is felt, stake check ball with suitable drift punch, being careful not to damage bore containing pump weight.
d. Remove old check ball and install new one, then install weight ball and recheck for leaks.
7. Install new gaskets, discharge nozzle and screw.
8. Install primary main well tube and high speed bleed.
9. Install secondary main well tube and high speed bleed.
10. Install primary main metering jet.
11. Install secondary main metering jet.
12. Install needle and seat assembly.
13. Adjust float setting and float drop as described under ``On-Vehicle Adjustments.''
14. Position new gasket on air horn.
15. Install choke rod seal and choke operating rod.
16. Carefully position air horn on carburetor body, then install new choke operating rod retainers on choke shaft lever and fast idle cam pickup lever and connect choke operating rod.
17. Install air horn to carburetor body attaching screws, torquing evenly in stages to 30 inch lbs.
18. Install and tighten idle stop solenoid screws, then anti-rattle clip, if equipped.
19. Install wide open throttle cutout switch, moving switch so thatair conditioning clutch circuit is open in throttle position of 10° before wide open.
20. Position new duty cycle or oxygen feedback solenoid gasket on air horn.
21. Install new O-ring seal on solenoid, then lubricate solenoid with light coat of petroleum jelly and carefully install solenoid in carburetor.
22. Install solenoid mounting screws and tighten securely, then route wiring through clamp.
23. Install and tighten harness mounting screw.
24. Install fuel inlet fitting.
