In order to maintain the effectiveness of the Driveability Test Procedure the attached revision pages are being supplied and should be inserted in all your copies of the test procedure. These pages should be glued, taped, or stapled over their corresponding pages in the subject procedure.
The following is a brief description of all the revisions:
2.2 Liter Engines With Electronic Fuel Injection (Book #81-699-4007)
Page X Speed Sensor, Item S. - added to the visual inspection
for electrical connections.
Page 1 No Start Test No. 1, Test A - under test indication -
noted added to handle 1 or 2 sparks as no spark.
Page 17 No Start Fuel Test No. 3, Test C - added to further pin
point a flooding condition.
Page 4O Hard Start/Start and Stall/Excessive Idle Speed Test
No. 1, Test B - revised to say - disconnect 6-way connector from throttle body.
Page 73 Driveability Cold Test No. 4, Test B - added for M.A.P.
Sensor.
Page 75 Driveability Warm Test No. 2, Test B - added for
M.A.P. Sensor.
Page 107 Driveability Test No. 13, Test B - under test indication
- timing specifications revised. Test No. 14 - idle speed check no longer required.
Pages 110 Idle Set RPM Adjustment Procedure - deleted because idle speed is
& 111 controlled by the logic module.
