A pressed fit 5th speed synchronizer hub entered production in A-525 transaxles on May 15, 1984. The pressed fit hub reduces gear rattle and the overall noise level of the transaxle.


The service procedure for the pressed fit hub does not change except for removal and installation. The pressed fit hub is interchangeable with prior A465 and A525 hubs.


To remove the 5th speed synchronizer hub from the shaft, use Miller

Tool Pullers #C-4621-1 to remove the hub.


To reinstall the hub, use Miller Tool Installer #C-4888 to press the hub onto the shaft.
