Oil leak at transaxle oil pan bolts


DIAGNOSIS/REPAIR


Oil leaks that appear to be due to the defective application of RTV at the transaxle oil pan may actually be due to porosity in the case.

Porosity may allow oil to leak into the oil pan bolt holes and out around the bolt heads.


In order to prevent leakage around the bolts, apply RTV sealer to the bolt threads whenever transaxle oil pans are serviced.
