Further Points & Battery Diagnosis Information
FURTHER POINTS TO CONSIDERProper operation of the charging system should be confirmed. This can best be done by referring to the Chrysler service manual procedures.
The drive belts must be properly tightened, the wiring connectors properly attached, the voltage regulator functioning, the alternator output normal, and again, no electrical loads left on inadvertently.
BATTERY DIAGNOSIS - DRIVER RELATED CONDITION
If no cause is found for a discharged battery and the battery tests good, a light may have been left on or the driving habits of the owner may be such that, especially with many short trips and repeated starts, the alternator does not get a chance to recharge the battery between starts. If this situation is suspected, the driver should be instructed in ways to reduce battery drain. Limiting the use of the rear window defogger or using the low blower setting whenever possible are helpful in this regard.
