Thermo Sensor
The radiator fan switch is located on lefthand radiator tank. The switch is normally open and incorporates a bi-metal disc which pushes the plunger when coolant temperature reaches approximately 200 degrees F. If the fan motor turns on and off at the appropriate temperature, the switch is operating properly.
To check switch continuity, drain coolant until level is below switch. The switch can be viewed by looking downward through the radiator filler neck. Disconnect electrical connector from switch and remove switch from radiator. Dip switch into an oil bath which has achieved a temperature of 208 degrees F or higher and check switch for continuity using a test lamp or ohmmeter. If continuity is not indicated, replace switch.
