Pre-Test Procedure
Tests must be performed in sequence shown in order to properly diagnose the system. Also before starting test sequence check all vacuum hoses to make sure they are properly routed and not leaking. Check resistance of all related wiring, especially connectors at the output components and at the fuel control computer. Connect an outside vacuum source to vacuum transducer and apply 16 inches Hg vacuum. Apply parking brake, then start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Whenever the engine is restarted hot, increase engine speed to 2000 RPM on front wheel drive models and 1500 RPM on rear wheel drive models for at least 2 minutes before proceeding. Do not ground carburetor switch.
