Rear Brake Hose Replacement
Removal Procedure
Warning:
Refer to Brake Dust Warning Brake Dust Warning.
Warning:

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation Removal and Replacement.
3. Remove any dirt or debris from the brake pipe fitting (1).
4. Using a backup wrench on the brake hose fitting, disconnect the brake pipe fitting.
Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
5. Remove the brake hose bracket bolt (2).
6. Remove the brake hose fitting bolt (1).
7. Remove and discard the 2 brake hose fitting gaskets (2).
8. Remove the brake hose (3).
Installation Procedure
1. Assemble the brake hose fitting bolt (1) and 2 new brake hose fitting gaskets (2) to the brake hose (3).
Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
2. Install the brake hose assembly to the caliper and tighten the brake hose fitting bolt to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).
3. Install the brake hose bracket bolt (2) and tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb in).
4. Using a backup wrench on the brake hose fitting, connect the brake pipe fitting (1) and tighten to 17 Nm (13 lb ft).
5. Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual) Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual)Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure) Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure).
6. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation Removal and Replacement.
