Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the front bumper impact bar. Refer to Front Bumper Impact Bar Removal and Installation (GMC) Front Bumper Impact Bar Removal and Installation (Chevrolet) .





2. Remove the transmission fluid cooler hose (1) from the auxiliary oil cooler. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection Service and Repair.

3. Remove the transmission fluid cooler hose from the radiator. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection Service and Repair.

4. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.





5. Remove the transmission cooling line bracket retaining bolt (2).

6. Lower the transmission support crossmember enough to access the transmission oil cooler lines. Refer to Transmission Support Crossmember Replacement (4WD 2500/3500 Series) Transmission Support Crossmember Replacement (4WD 1500 Series) Transmission Support Crossmember Replacement (2WD 1500 Series) Transmission Support Crossmember Replacement (2WD 2500/3500 Series) .

7. Remove the cooling lines from the transmission.

8. Remove the oil cooling lines from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the transmission oil cooler lines to the vehicle.

2. Install the cooler lines to the transmission.

Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

3. Install the transmission cooler line bracket bolt (2) and tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb ft).

4. Install the transmission support crossmember. Refer to Transmission Support Crossmember Replacement (4WD 2500/3500 Series) Transmission Support Crossmember Replacement (4WD 1500 Series) Transmission Support Crossmember Replacement (2WD 1500 Series) Transmission Support Crossmember Replacement (2WD 2500/3500 Series) .

5. Lower the vehicle.





6. Install the transmission fluid cooler hose (1) to the radiator. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection Service and Repair.

7. Install the transmission fluid cooler hose to the auxiliary oil cooler. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection Service and Repair.

8. Install the front bumper impact bar. Refer to Front Bumper Impact Bar Removal and Installation (GMC) Front Bumper Impact Bar Removal and Installation (Chevrolet) .
