Water in Fuel Indicator Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.




2. Disconnect the electrical connector (1).

3. Disconnect the rubber drain hose.

4. Remove the water in fuel indicator sensor (2) and o-ring (3) from the fuel filter (4).

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

1. Install the water in fuel indicator sensor (2) and tighten 180° after the o-ring seal (3) makes contact with the filter housing (4).

2. Install the rubber drain hose to the sensor.

3. Connect the electrical connector (1).

4. Prime the fuel system. Refer to Fuel System Priming Fuel System Priming.

5. Start the engine and check for leaks.
