Fuel Pump Replacement (Primary)

Removal Procedure

Warning: Refer to Relieving Fuel Pressure Warning Service Precautions.


1. Relieve the fuel pressure.




2. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the fuel pump assembly.

3. Disconnect the fuel lines (2) from the fuel pump assembly (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service Procedures.

4. Remove fuel pump assembly fasteners (1) and remove the fuel pump assembly from the bracket.

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

1. Install the fuel pump assembly (3) to the bracket and tighten the fasteners (1) to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).

2. Connect the fuel lines (2) to the fuel pump assembly (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service Procedures.

3. Connect the electrical connectors.

4. Prime the fuel system. Refer to Fuel System Priming Fuel System Priming.

5. Start the vehicle and inspect for leaks.
