Water Pump Outlet Pipe Replacement (LGH)
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.
2. Remove the positive crankcase ventilation pipe bracket bolt (5).
3. Remove the positive crankcase ventilation pipe bolt (4) and reposition the pipe (6).
4. Remove the water pump to water pump outlet pipe nuts (1) from the studs (2).
5. Remove the water pump to water pump outlet pipe studs (2) and discard the gasket (3).
6. Remove the five oil filter adapter and oil cooler assembly bolts (1) and the water pump outlet pipe (3).
Note:
Discard the water pump outlet seal (2).
7. Remove the water pump outlet pipe (1) from the oil filter adapter and oil cooler assembly (3).
Installation Procedure
1. Install a NEW water pump outlet pipe O-ring (2) onto the pipe and lubricate the O-ring seal with engine coolant.
2. Install new O-rings (2) to the oil filter adapter and oil cooler assembly.
Lubricate the O-rings with engine oil.
3. Apply sealer to the O-ring sealing area (1). Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
4. Install the oil cooler assembly (2) and the water pump outlet pipe (3), to the engine block. Tighten the bolts (1) to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
5. Position a NEW water pump outlet pipe gasket (3) to the water pump.
Install the water pump outlet pipe to the water pump outlet pipe studs (1) and tighten the nuts (1) to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
6. Install the positive crankcase ventilation pipe (6) with bolt (4) and the retainer bracket bolt (5). Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb in).
7. Lower the vehicle.
