Draining the Fuel Lines

Warning

Drain the fuel lines in a safe place away from any source of ignition. Do not drain fuel lines indoors unless there is enough drain hose to route the end of the hose outside the building, and away from any source of ignition. Any spark or flame can ignite the fuel vapor which could cause personal injury and/or property damage. The person performing this procedure must be trained and familiar with the properties and characteristics of LPG.

Warning

Always disconnect the vehicle's negative battery terminal prior to performing any service to a LPG tank or fuel line. Failure to follow this procedure could cause bodily injury or damage to the vehicle.

1. Remove the vehicle fuel tank shield.

2. Disconnect the vehicle's negative battery terminal and the LPDM connector from the fuel pump flow control module.

3. Connect the CH-50933 - Gauge Assembly, Liquid Propane Gas (LPG) to the Schrader Valve located at the LPDM on the mid-ship tank.

Note: Route the end of the LPG gauge assembly drain hose outside of any building or structure, and away from any source of ignition.

4. The Schrader Valve is connected to the liquid supply section of the system, but also accesses the fuel return section.

5. Open the valve on the gauge set, and allow the fuel lines to bleed out until the gauge reads zero.

Note: This procedure does not drain the fuel tank(s). The tank(s) cannot be serviced until the tank drain and evacuation procedure has been completed. Refer to LPG Tank Drain and Evacuation Service and Repair.

6. Leave the gauge set hooked up and leave the valve open until the necessary service is complete.
