Rear Side Door Window Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Traverse) Rear Side Door Trim Panel ReplacementRear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Enclave) Rear Side Door Trim Panel ReplacementRear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Acadia) Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement.

2. Remove the water deflector.

Note:
Tape the edges of the outer belt sealing strip to pinch weld to protect the paint.

3. Remove the outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Outer Sealing Strip Replacement (Acadia/Outlook) Rear Side Door Window Outer Sealing Strip Replacement (Enclave) .





4. Lower the window (1) to align the bolts (2) with the access holes in the inner panel.

5. Remove the window guide bolts (2).

6. Using masking tape place the door window into the upper door frame and tape in place.

7. Remove the window regulator. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Regulator Replacement Service and Repair.

8. Remove the rear door speaker. Refer to Radio Rear Side Door Speaker Replacement Radio Rear Side Door Speaker Replacement.

9. Remove the rear door window front channel. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Front Channel Replacement Rear Side Door Window Front Channel Replacement.

10. Remove the masking tape from the window and frame.





Warning:
Refer to Glass and Sheet Metal Handling Warning Glass and Sheet Metal Handling Warning.


Note:
In order to remove the window out of the frame, carefully grasp and tilt the window toward the outer door panel. The window comes out between the door panel and the window frame.

11. Remove the window (1) from the door.

Installation Procedure





1. With the regulator in the remove/load position, install the window (1) to the door.

1. Tilt the window forward and carefully guide the window into the rear channel.

2. Position the window to an upright position. Ensure that the window is seated into the channels.

3. Position the window (1) to a fully secure position into the upper door weatherstrip.

Note:
Do not operate the regulator motor without supporting the window. Ensure that the window remains in the channels when operating the regulator motor.

Carefully move the regulator upward for short slow intervals, while ensuring that the window remains in the channels.

2. Install the rear door window regulator. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Regulator Replacement Service and Repair.





Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

3. Install the rear door window guide bolts (2).

Tighten the rear door window guide bolts (2).

Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

4. Install the rear door window front channel. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Front Channel Replacement Rear Side Door Window Front Channel Replacement.

5. Install the rear door speaker. Refer to Radio Rear Side Door Speaker Replacement Radio Rear Side Door Speaker Replacement.

6. Install the outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Outer Sealing Strip Replacement (Acadia/Outlook) Rear Side Door Window Outer Sealing Strip Replacement (Enclave) .

7. Remove the tape from the edges of the outer belt sealing strip.

8. Install the water deflector.

9. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Traverse) Rear Side Door Trim Panel ReplacementRear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Enclave) Rear Side Door Trim Panel ReplacementRear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Acadia) Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement.

10. Inspect the window for proper operation.
