Sunroof Track Timing/Synchronization

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the sunroof window. Refer to Sunroof Window Replacement Sunroof Window Replacement.

2. It is only necessary to lower the headliner. Only do those steps in the headliner replacement procedure that will lower the headliner enough to gain access to the part. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement Service and Repair.

3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sunroof motor/actuator.

4. Remove the motor/actuator. Refer to Sunroof Motor/Actuator Replacement Service and Repair.





Note:
The motor Must be removed to perform this step.

5. Slide the left and right cams (1) froward until the timing holes (2) comes into view.





6. Ensure that the timing marks (2 ,3) are in line with both sunroof cams.





Note:
Both sunroof cams should now be in the forward position.

7. Insert a dowel pin (1) in the holes (2) on both sides of the sunroof frame to hold the cams in position while remove the motor/actuator.

Installation Procedure

Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

1. Install the motor/actuator. Refer to Sunroof Motor/Actuator Replacement Service and Repair.

Tighten the screws to 3.5 Nm (31 lb in).

2. Connect the electrical connector to the motor/actuator.





3. Remove the dowel pin (1) from the holes (2) on both sides of the sunroof frame that held the cams in position while installing the motor/actuator.

4. Install the sunroof window. Refer to Sunroof Window Replacement Sunroof Window Replacement.

Tighten the screws to 4 Nm (35 lb in).

5. Verify the operation of the sunroof.

6. Perform the Initialization/Teach Procedure. Refer to Sunroof Motor/Actuator Initialization/Teach Process (New Motor) Sunroof Motor/Actuator Initialization/Teach Process (New Motor)Sunroof Motor/Actuator Initialization/Teach Process (Existing Motor) Sunroof Motor/Actuator Initialization/Teach Process (Existing Motor)Sunroof Motor/Actuator Initialization/Teach Process (New Roller Sunshade) Sunroof Motor/Actuator Initialization/Teach Process (New Roller Sunshade)Sunroof Motor/Actuator Initialization/Teach Process (Existing Roller Sunshade) Sunroof Motor/Actuator Initialization/Teach Process (Existing Roller Sunshade).

7. Install the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement Service and Repair.
