Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement (GT4 Without LGH)

Removal Procedure

1. Place drain pans under the vehicle.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).





Caution: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Caution (Service Precautions).

3. Disconnect the power steering cooler hose from the power steering pump.




4. Disconnect the power steering cooler hose from the power steering gear.
5. Cap the power steering cooler ends in order to prevent the entry of dirt.




6. Remove the power steering cooler mounting bolts.
7. Remove the power steering cooler from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the power steering cooler in the vehicle.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the power steering cooler mounting bolts and tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb in).




3. Connect the power steering cooler hose to the power steering gear and tighten to 33 Nm (24 lb in).




4. Connect the power steering cooler hose to the power steering pump.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding (Service and Repair).
7. Remove the drain pans.
