Water Pump Outlet Pipe Replacement (LGH)

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).




2. Remove the oil separator drain hose and pipe bracket bolt (5).
3. Remove the oil separator drain bolt (4) and reposition oil separator drain pipe (6).




4. Remove the water pump to water pump outlet pipe nuts (1) from the studs (2).
5. Remove the water pump to water pump outlet pipe studs (2) and discard the gasket (3).




6. Remove the water pump outlet pipe (1).
7. Remove and discard the water pump outlet pipe O-ring (2).

Installation Procedure




1. Install a NEW water pump outlet pipe O-ring (2) onto the pipe.
2. Lubricate the O-ring seal with engine coolant.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Position a NEW water pump outlet pipe gasket (3) to the water pump.
Install the water pump to water pump outlet pipe studs (1) and tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).
4. Install the water pump to water pump outlet pipe nuts (1) and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).




5. Install the oil separator drain pipe (6) with bolt (4) and the retainer bracket bolt (5).
6. Lower the vehicle.
