Oil Level Indicator Tube Replacement (LMM)

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the upper fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L, 7.0L) (Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement) Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (Diesel) (Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement).
2. Remove the upper oil fill tube bolt (1).




3. Remove the right engine mount and bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side (Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side).
4. Remove the starter. Refer to Starter Replacement (V8) (Service and Repair)Starter Replacement (V6) (Service and Repair)Starter Replacement (Diesel) (Service and Repair).
5. Remove the lower oil fill tube bolt (1).
6. Remove and discard the oil fill tube O-ring seal.

Installation Procedure




1. Install a NEW O-ring seal onto the oil fill tube.
2. Install the oil fill tube.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the lower oil fill tube bolt (1) and tighten to 21 Nm (15 lb ft).
4. Install the starter. Refer to Starter Replacement (V8) (Service and Repair)Starter Replacement (V6) (Service and Repair)Starter Replacement (Diesel) (Service and Repair).




5. Install the upper oil fill tube bolt (1) and tighten to 21 Nm (15 lb ft).
6. Install the right engine mount and bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side (Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side).
7. Install the upper radiator fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L, 7.0L) (Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement) Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (Diesel) (Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement).
