Water Pump Outlet Pipe Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the oil filter adapter and oil cooler assembly. Refer to Oil Filter Adapter and Oil Cooler Assembly Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the water pump to water pump outlet pipe nuts (2).
4. Remove the water pump to water pump outlet pipe studs (1).




5. Remove the water pump outlet pipe.
6. Remove and discard the water pump outlet pipe O-ring and gasket.

Installation Procedure




1. Install a NEW water pump outlet pipe O-ring onto the pipe.
2. Lubricate the O-ring seal with engine coolant.
3. Position a NEW water pump outlet pipe gasket to the water pump.
4. Install the water pump outlet pipe.
5. Install the oil filter adapter and oil cooler assembly. Refer to Oil Filter Adapter and Oil Cooler Assembly Replacement (Service and Repair).





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

6. Install the water pump to water pump outlet pipe studs (1) and tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).
7. Install the water pump to water pump outlet pipe nuts (2) and tighten to25 Nm (18 lb ft).
8. Lower the vehicle.
