Diesel Particle Filter (DPF): Service and Repair
EXHAUST PARTICULATE FILTER REPLACEMENT (6.6L RPO LMM)
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the tail pipe. Tail Pipe Replacement (6.6L (LMM))
2. Remove the exhaust temperature sensors. Service and Repair
3. Remove the exhaust pressure differential sensor pipe. Exhaust Pressure Differential Sensor Pipe Replacement
4. Remove the catalytic converter to particulate filter nuts.
5. Remove the exhaust particulate filter.
6. Remove and discard the exhaust particulate filter gasket.
Installation Procedure
1. Install a NEW gasket onto the catalytic converter studs.
2. Install the exhaust particulate filter.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
3. Install the catalytic converter to particulate filter nuts.
Tighten
Nuts to 40 Nm (30 lb ft).
4. Install the exhaust pressure differential sensor pipe.
5. Install the exhaust temperature sensors.
6. Install the tail pipe.
7. Using a scan tool, perform the DPF Reset For Replace DPF.
