Rear Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair



Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Replacement

Tools Required
^ J44641 Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Remover
^ J44642 Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Installer

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the transmission.
2. Remove the engine flywheel.





3. Install the J44641 to the crankshaft rear oil seal.
4. Remove the crankshaft rear oil seal using J44641.

Installation Procedure





1. Place the crankshaft rear oil seal onto the crankshaft.

Important: The J44642 must be fully secured to the crankshaft to ensure proper seal depth.

2. Install the J44642 to the crankshaft.
3. Press the crankshaft rear oil seal into position using the J44642. The J44642 will bottom out when the seal reaches the proper depth.
4. Remove the J44642.
5. Install the engine flywheel.
6. Install the transmission.
