Idler Pulley: Service and Repair

Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the upper radiator fan shroud.





2. Remove the drive belt.
3. Remove the bolt (1) from the right side idler pulley.
4. Remove the idler pulley.
5. Remove the bolt (2) for the center idler pulley.
6. Remove the idler pulley.
7. If equipped with dual generators, remove the bolt from the left side idler pulley.
8. If equipped with dual generators, remove the idler pulley.

Installation Procedure





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

1. Install the right side idler pulley and bolt (1).
Tighten the bolt to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
2. Install the center idler pulley and bolt (2).
Tighten the bolt to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
3. If equipped with dual generators, install the left side idler pulley and bolt.
Tighten the bolt to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the drive belt.
5. Install the upper radiator fan shroud.
