Hood Latch Release Handle Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the knee bolster. Refer toKnee Bolster, Insulator, Molding Replacement - Instrument Panel (Service and Repair) in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.




2. Remove the screws from the hood release handle.
3. Remove the hood release handle from the instrument panel (I/P).




4. Use a small, flat-bladed tool in order to remove the hood release cable grommet from the brake pedal bracket plate.
5. Remove the hood release cable from the hood latch.
6. Route the hood release cable from the brake pedal bracket plate.
7. Remove the hood release cable and hood release handle from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure

1. Install the hood release cable and hood release handle to the vehicle.




2. Route the hood release cable to the brake pedal bracket plate panel.
3. Install the hood release cable to the hood latch.
4. Press the hood release cable grommet into place in order to install the grommet to the brake pedal bracket plate.




5. Install the hood release handle to the I/P.

Notice: Refer toFastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

6. Install the screws to the hood release handle.

Tighten the screws to 2 Nm (18 lb in).

7. Install the knee bolster. Refer toKnee Bolster, Insulator, Molding Replacement - Instrument Panel (Service and Repair) in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
